Members highlighted the sector’s significant economic contribution and DAAC’s role in informing local government. Trends discussed included an increase in female farm operators and growth in on‑farm diversified uses, supported by streamlined site plan approvals. Key challenges identified were rising land prices, barriers to farm succession, and commercialization difficulties for new farmers to access markets.
